The Advantages of Renting

The decision to purchase a home is not an easy one and your residents may need a little help in recognizing the benefits of renting. This is a helpful hand out for your residents when they are contemplating purchasing a home. Give them valuable information so that they can make a decision based on their needs. If you put these reasons in writing they are able to see the advantages of renting in black and white. There might be some costs of owning that they have not thought of or benefits of renting that they will miss after they’re gone.
1. Free access to the Pool and Jacuzzi. No upkeep is required and you do not pay for chemicals, repairs etc.
2. Free Fitness room. You do not pay a monthly fee for use of the facility.
3. Landscape is taken care of by the property management at no cost to you and you do not have to pull weeds yourself.
4. Courtesy patrol walks the community at night.
5. No HOA fee or property tax fees.
6. Community events where you meet your neighbors and make friends.
7. Maintenance is on call and you do not have to do repairs yourself or pay to have them done.
8. Flexibility to move if you have a job transfer or an emergency comes up.
9. Insurance costs are less when renting.
10. Financial Stability. No unexpected expenses.

Ask your resident to research these costs before deciding to buy. Suggest that they check for example the water heater in the house and see what the cost is to replace it or the cost of simply having their a/c serviced. You may even want to check with the local fitness clubs to find out the monthly cost. These fees may surprise them!
