Clever Marketing Tools

When going to do outreach marketing in and around your neighborhood it’s a good idea to bring little goodies instead of just handing out your business cards or fliers. You can create small gifts for the vendors and business owners whom you are meeting for the first time and larger gifts for the vendors that you have established a relationship with and you want to thank for their continued support and referrals. Here are some ideas for inexpensive and fun gifts:
1. Ice Tea Jar – (these are about $5.00 or less) filled with your fliers, brochures, other free logo gifts. Add some tea bags, suntan lotion and anything else that says summer. The nice thing about this gift is you don’t need to wrap it in plastic. You just pop everything in the jar and you’re done!
2. Plastic Popcorn Holder – (You can purchase a package of these for under around $10.00 at the party store) Add your marketing items, some microwave popcorn, candy and a DVD or movie tickets.
3. Plastic Pales or Shovels – in red or blue (Packages are sold at the party store for around $5.00) add your cards, brochures, some candy, star necklaces and mini flags for a 4th of July theme.
4. Smores – Wrap up marshmallows, Hershey candy bars and a box of graham crackers along with your brochures, fliers etc in a b
asket.
5. Ice Cream Float – In a lunch cooler put a can of Root Beer, a small container of vanilla ice cream along with your information with a couple plastic cups.
6. Plastic Pitcher- Filled with a couple flavors of of Kool Aid, twisty straws and your fliers, cards etc.

All of these items are a fun way to promote your community to the neighborhood. Add a tag on the gift with a catchy slogan such as “Have a Kool Summer” or “XYZ Community wishes you a Sweet Day!”
