There are so many ways to get involved with the community, get your apartment community’s name out there and do work for a great cause all at the same time. Pick a cause that is close to your heart or list several and let your staff pick as a team. This can be as simple as volunteering your property to be a drop off point for toys for tots or donating bottled water with your logo on them to a local charity walk or fun run. If you prefer you can get involved by walking at an event yourself. First print shirts with your community name and the name of the cause. Next post fliers and signs throughout the community. When you register for the event you can request that the organization send you posters and trading cards to hand out to promote your involvement in the event. Get the residents involved by asking them to volunteer and fund raise. Create a fundraising page and post the information on your website and your social media pages advertising the event and requesting donations. Invite the media to do an interview and story on the community’s involvement in the charity event. Make sure to invite your city Councilman to your community to any preliminary fundraising efforts before the actual event date. Organize a bake sale to raise funds. The residents will love baking cookies, brownies etc. and this is a great way to get them involved. Purchase a booth for the day of the event and be sure the booth is clearly labeled with your community name and logo. Stock up on brochures, business cards and free gifts for visitors to your table. Make the day fun with games and prizes at your table. Blow up balloons. Purchase a game wheel or create several baskets for raffles. Take lots of pictures for your social media pages. Most of all enjoy yourself!
