Garden Party Pot Luck

Planting a community garden can be a very gratifying event. What better way to celebrate that achievement then to have a garden party pot luck? The best way to do this is to select a couple residents to help with the planning and organization of the potluck. One resident can be in charge of making a list of food dishes needed and assigning them to residents willing to bring a dish. These dishes will be in the spirit of the occasion, food made with herbs and veggies from the garden. The other volunteer can be in charge of decorations. This can be very simple and elegant such as hanging strands of lights and making hand made table decorations. Spray paint cans with colorful paint and use them as vases for wild flowers. Use seed packets as party favors and create a photo booth with bales of hay for selfies. Offer lemonade and sweet tea for refreshments. Keep it simple with a organic country theme and you and your residents will have a wonderful time!
