Fall is upon us and it’s time to
start thinking about events for the season. A few fun ideas and some festive
decorations and you can put together a party to remember! Every year we ask our
residents to decorate their patios for the holidays and we have a contest to
see who is the most creative. Why not do the same thing for Halloween and have
a Pumpkin carving contest? Send out a fun flier and give a deadline in which
you will be walking around your Community to take pictures of their pumpkin in
order to choose the best carved pumpkin. You can have a couple different
categories such as Most creative, Scariest, cutest etc. or you can have
first, second and third place. Partner with the haunted houses in your area and
maybe ask for free tickets or partner with the area Halloween costume stores
and purchase gift cards from them for the prizes! Purchase DVD’s of scary
movies or purchase gift cards to the local theaters. You can also have an adult
contest and a separate children’s contest with pumpkin pales for
collecting candy filled with Halloween coloring books, crayons and other small
toys as prizes. Try and partner with the area businesses to make the party a
hit. You would be amazed at the business owners who want to be included in your
events and would be happy to donate raffle prizes especially the
businesses that are seasonal. Be creative and most of all have fun!.
